Born and raised in the vibrant city of Boston, MA, Dr. Tran is a first-generation physician whose remarkable journey reflects her unwavering commitment to serving others.

Her academic journey commenced in Worcester, MA, where she completed her undergraduate training and distinguished herself as a Summa Cum Laude graduate from a predominantly research-focused university. It was here that Dr. Tran’s intellectual curiosity and commitment to academic excellence first emerged, setting the stage for a distinguished career.

Dr. Tran’s initial academic pursuits led her down a path towards a PhD in marriage counseling, a field where the complexities of the human psyche and relationships intrigued her. However, her passion for fostering multicultural competency in healthcare and mental health administration led her to embark on a different educational journey. She earned a dual master’s degree in psychological counseling and education from the prestigious Columbia University in the vibrant heart of New York City.

During her time at Columbia, Dr. Tran’s fascination with the mind-body connection deepened. She delved into the concept of psycho-somatization, the transformation of mental health issues into physical symptoms. This exploration kindled her interest in the intricate relationship between the mind and the skin, our body’s largest organ. Driven by her insatiable curiosity, she ventured into the emerging field of psychodermatology, where she sought to bridge the gap between comprehensive medical and mental health treatment.

Graduating from Columbia with high honors, Dr. Tran continued her academic journey at Harvard University’s prestigious health career program, where she obtained post-baccalaureate premedical training. With unwavering determination and a quest for knowledge, she then pursued her medical education at the Frank H. Netter School of Medicine in North Haven, CT. Here, she achieved high distinction in medical humanities, emphasizing her commitment to understanding the human experience.

Dr. Tran’s postgraduate preliminary training at the esteemed Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City marked the beginning of her specialization in general surgery. Her passionate focus on inflammatory disorders, immunology, psychodermatology, and procedural dermatology, including Moh’s surgery, underscores her dedication to advancing the field and enhancing patient care.
